Year 9 sculptors visit Bristol Museum and Art Gallery
Last week, a group of our keen Year 9 sculptors were taken on a trip to Bristol Museum and Art Gallery where they were treated to a curator talk for the ‘Being Human’ Sculpture exhibition.
The students learnt more about the artworks and had the opportunity to try out some different approaches to drawing from the sculptures. Whilst visiting the museum, the students also had a chance to browse for inspiration for their ceramic workshop.
In the afternoon, they had a fantastic session at Pot Stop where they really enjoyed working with professional potter, Neil, to produce decorated platters in their own design.
Each of the students also had a chance to have a go on the potters wheel and each made a small cup. Once the work has been fired they will be able to glaze their impressive work back in school.
