Year 11s visit London’s ExCeL Centre for New Scientist Live Exhibition
On 10th October, a group of our Year 11 students embarked upon a great journey of discovery at the ExCeL centre London for the New Scientist Live Exhibition.
The exhibition was very enjoyable and the group had the chance to listen to talks held by scientific and celebrity personalities such as Tim Peake, Dallas Campbell and Konnie Huq. Each of the students tested their speed against top athletes, rode a VR rollercoaster, got lost in space and were able to use cutting edge simulation technology to experience life with significant medical issues such as dementia.
Additionally Dyson, BP, Apprenticeships UK, Technicians Make it Happen and many universities were present at the exhibition, which provided the group with some excellent opportunities to discuss with industry leading professionals their options for future careers in Science.
All of our students had a great time at the exhibition and returned to Clifton with a greater understanding of how science impacts the world around them and could help to shape their futures.
