Lower Sixth Geography field trips

The geographers had a boat tour of the harbourside to see the impact that regeneration has had from the Cumberland Basin to Temple Quay. They carried out environmental quality assessments and place surveys whilst using the Survey123 app. All groups found that the price of a coffee has an inverse relationship with distance from the harbourside.

Our second day of fieldwork was a first for the Geography Department and starts a relationship with the Belmont Estate and their rewilding project. The pupils carried out infiltration and carbon studies. The College will return to the estate in the coming years to see if the rewilding impacts the soil carbon content.
