Kadoorie Cup May 2021

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Kadoorie Cup music competition early this month. In keeping with Covid restrictions, the event was attended by only the performers themselves and a limited number of staff, but it was streamed live on YouTube and has received over 750 views to date from parents, staff and other students.

We were treated to fantastic performances from right across the 13-18 age spectrum, with repertoire from Bach to Billie Eilish and most things in between! As well as many super singers, virtuosic violinists and wonderful wind players, there were several fine performances on the Harrison&Harrison organ. Adjudicator Dr David Bednall praised all the students for the work they had done to maintain and develop their musicianship during lockdown, and was most impressed with the very high overall standard. Particularly well done to Sophie and Flo who won the Junior Instrumental and Vocal categories, and to Victor and Eliza who came top in the Senior competitions.
