Assistant Manager Sodexo Catering Wins National Award for Spirit of Inclusion

Huge congratulations to Johnny, Assistant Manager of Sodexo Catering at Clifton College, who has won the overall UK and Ireland award for Spirit of Inclusion at the Spirit of Sodexo Awards 2023.

Within the College, Johnny has brought to life theme days including Pride Month and Black History Month, Johnny was instrumental in driving the Faith and Festival calendar with the catering team (to over 60 staff.) Johnny has through his passion for food brought to life ‘Food for thought on Diversity’. Bringing to life an awareness and knowledge of diverse communities and how this affects what/how people eat.

“Our vision at Clifton College is to become a fully inclusive organisation. In order to achieve this vision, we have the mission to educate members of our community about Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging; celebrate the contribution of marginalised groups to history, celebrate key events and promote different cultures. At our school we have more than 42 nationalities and we strongly believe we need to work together to achieve our goals.

Sodexo, in particular Johnny, has been actively supporting the EDIB journey at Clifton College. He is proactive and helps us with ideas and initiatives each term, including designing specific menus and events each term to help the school embrace and celebrate EDI. Feedback from pupils, parents and staff has been really positive. I believe Johnny is a great example of an employee and ambassador for Sodexo who embraces EDI and works hard to achieve the school vision.”
