Annual Sailing Regatta

Last Thursday, Clifton College welcomed Sherborne School to Chew Valley Lake for the home leg of an annual sailing regatta for the Wilton Shield. A competition that was first sailed between the two schools in 1961, for a shield donated by H.A. Wilton O.C.

The fixture involved three teams; Senior 1st’s, U16 A’s and U16 B’s. Sherborne’s 1st team took the win, with a final score of 4-0.

In the U16 fixtures, Clifton A’s took a convincing 2-0 win, whilst in the U16 B’s Clifton lost out by 2-0 in their fixture, which could have easily gone either way.

The second leg will take place at Sutton Bingham Sailing Club on the 23rd of February, where we look forward to taking on some more fierce competition!
