Year 4 enjoy Roman Day

Year 4 had a marvellous day engaging with a variety of different activities as part of their special ‘Roman Day’ last Friday.

The day started out with an introduction from a visitor, dressed in a full suit of armour, who talked us through how the Romans arrived in Britain.

The children then worked their way through a carousel of activities, creating their own mosaics, becoming an emperor by donning a laurel wreath and forming the famous ‘testudo’ military formation with the help of a Roman general.

Much fun was had on a beautiful sunny day in which the children picked up a whole range of information, from why the Romans stole so many ideas from the Greeks, to how they visited the bathroom!
