Pupils champion sustainability with multiple wins in competitions

We recently celebrated the remarkable achievements of a truly exceptional team in this year’s National Peter Jones Tycoon in Schools Enterprise Competition. Congratulations to Fleur, Erin, Alice, Olivia, and Nina for their outstanding participation in this competition. Their business, ‘Revive’, developed an impressive range of jewellery and clothing aimed at raising awareness about the importance of sustainable fashion. By transforming their initial start-up loan of £470 into an astounding £800 in profits they were the 4th most profitable business from over 300 schools who had successfully secured start-up funding. But their success doesn’t stop at financial achievement. Demonstrating commendable social responsibility, the team has generously donated £100 of their profits to the charities committee in support of the Ocean Conservation Trust. This donation will aid in addressing the very problems that fast fashion exacerbates, aligning perfectly with their business ethos.

Our Year 11 enterprise students have also achieved remarkable success in another prestigious national competition, the Young Enterprise 10X Challenge. Competing against over 19,000 students from more than 400 schools, our talented students have emerged as overall winners. Congratulations to Michael, Archie, Charlie, and Asher of the Clifton College Candle Company for winning the award for The Best Sales Pitch. Additionally, we celebrate Alysha, Bernice, Cami, Charlie, Ella and Kathy from Paperco for winning the award for Best in Sustainability. Their initiative to use waste paper from around our school and transform it into beautiful cards and keyrings has not only demonstrated their creativity but also raised crucial awareness about the importance of recycling in our community.

These teams have won £200 for our school which will also be donated to the charities committee in support of sustainability. Tycoons and young entrepreneurs, we are very proud of you!
