Every pupil will have the chance to play Netball as part of a competitive team regardless of the level. If competition isn’t an area of interest we also have development netball sessions on offer.
Our netball programme runs year round, even though our main netball term is in Lent (Jan- March) we still have a continued provision of netball in Michaelmas and Summer term.
Michaelmas term (Sept-Dec)
- Avon County competitions (U14/U16/U19)
- Weekly training sessions/friendlies in the lead up to county
- South West Regional Competition (subject to Avon County qualification)
Lent term (Jan- March)
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday training sessions
- Weekly fixtures against other schools
- National Finals Competition (subject to Regional qualification)
Summer term (April-July)
- Weekly training sessions
- Scheduled friendlies with other schools/clubs or pathways.
Alongside the general school provision we also have a performance sport scholarship. Netball scholars will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a performance sport programme which provides them with access to:
- Technical and tactical sessions tailored for individual/team improvements
- Strength and conditioning sessions with a specialist S&C coach
- Access to our on campus physio
- Field trips to Sport university facilities to engage with experts in sport nutrition, and sport psychology
Our Netball programme is definitely on the rise as we currently have 6 athletes within County, Regional and Superleague pathway programmes and we hope to increase this in the near future.
Over the past 5 years of netball at Clifton I have thoroughly enjoyed my whole experience. The environment surrounding netball is friendly and relaxed whilst still achieving the highest results. The highlights for me have been the group of girls I’ve played with and coming in the top 4 in the South West Regional finals.
