Music Technology Showcase
Two Year 13s – Miu and Tom – treated an audience to a specially conceived evening, transforming the recital hall into a specially-lit mixed media experience venue.
Combining live performance (on piano, clarinet, and tuned percussion), live digital performance (using sample pads and drum pads), pre-designed music production, and visual design using specially created projected visuals, the hour long programme was part improvisation, part lecture (as they analysed their own creation) and part premiere of newly-composed material jointly produced.
Each bound for creative artistic production or sound engineering courses at university, Miu and Tom shared their passion for digital music production, their backgrounds, and details of their rising careers collaborating online and in person with artists around the world.
Well done to them both for undertaking such an enterprising project, and we look forward to following their future paths with interest after leaving Clifton this summer!
